After a wage board appointed by Governor Cuomo recommended that the hourly wage for fast-food workers should rise in increments to $15, the president of the Civil Service Employees Association reminded Mr. Cuomo that thousands of state, local-government and school-district employees and contract workers make substantially less.
“I give Governor Andrew Cuomo the benefit of the doubt that this wage board wasn’t just an isolated political stunt to score some cheap points,” CSEA President Danny Donohue said in a statement after the board came out with its recommendation July 22.
