Though their base salaries rose this month, more than 2,000 School Crossing Guards still are beset by insufficient work-hours, summer furloughs and dangerous streets, according to Local 372 of District Council 37.
About 40 members of the local rallied in front of City Hall April 8 with a handful of City Council Members and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer to prod the de Blasio administration to allocate more money in its next budget to help address the job’s heavy turnover and financial instability.
