The corresponding secretary of the Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association, William Valentin, and the union’s president, Norman Seabrook, agree that Mr. Valentin is no longer working at the union’s offices. The reason is a matter of dispute.
Mr. Valentin said in an interview last week that he and Mr. Seabrook had clashed on and off over the past couple of years, but things came to a head when he requested the union’s membership list. “That’s pretty much what ultimately turned the issue,” he said.
