A drug-sniffing dog deployed at Rikers Island by the Department of Investigation smelled contraband on an officer, resulting in his arrest, DOI announced Oct. 12.
The dog, Buster, was positioned Oct. 10 at the front gate of the George R. Vierno Center when he reacted to Correction Officer Jean Bertrand, who was arriving for the afternoon shift.
