CityTime Funds Go To NYPD Cameras, Taping Interrogations

The Department of Investigation has given the NYPD $2 million to buy equipment including cameras for videotaping police interrogations, DOI Commissioner Rose Gill Hearn and Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly announced July 29.

The money is part of a forfeiture award DOI received from the U.S. Department of Justice in connection with the investigation of the CityTime case, in which DOI worked with the office of U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.
