Crime in New York City continues to drop to historic lows, with fewer major crimes occurring last month than during any November on record, but rapes continue to defy that trend.
The city had 402 fewer FBI index crimes—homicides, robberies, felony assaults, grand larcenies and burglaries—last month than in November 2017, a 5-percent overall drop, according to NYPD officials.
