An NYPD body-worn camera burst into flames Oct. 20 at the 121st Precinct in Staten Island, and Deputy Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the incident will likely make the department miss its target of equipping all patrol officers with such cameras by the end of the year.
An officer suiting up for the midnight shift noticed smoke coming from his camera and took it off, according to a statement from the department.
