In assessing the potential presidential field during a March 5 interview, Uniformed Fire Officers Association President Jake Lemonda said he expected to take direction from his international union, but from a personal standpoint his feeling was that “Joe Biden has been a very good friend to firefighters and first-responders across the nation. If he were to announce, I would consider him a potential candidate to get behind early.”
Judging by the former Vice President’s appearance seven days later at the legislative conference of the International Association of Fire Fighters in Washington, D.C., Mr. LeMonda may get his wish on both counts.
