Bang for the Buck? CBP Gets 2 Hires for $14M

With President Trump’s first term halfway over, his plans to boost the ranks of the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol have stalled in part because the Fortune Global 500 management consulting firm hired to expedite recruiting has failed to deliver on its contract, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Inspector General.

The Trump Administration plan to sub-contract the recruiting process has produced just two employees at a cost to taxpayers of close to $14 million over the first 10 months of the contract, according to an audit by the OIG.
