At Gleason Depot, Workers Not Expecting Moon in Pact

With their contract expiring Jan. 15, Transport Workers Union Local 100 members in Brooklyn last week predicted that the rough economy will make negotiations with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority difficult, but many insisted it gave them all the more reason to depend on good benefits and pay raises. They differed, though, on what, if anything, they’d be comfortable giving up to ensure a quick settlement.
