Harvard Yard may seem an odd destination for a union seeking to keep post offices public, but the American Postal Workers Union headed there in spirit last month in its attempt to discourage Staples office-supply stores from selling postal products and services.
The union took out a full-page ad in Harvard University’s Crimson newspaper calling for the school’s President, Drew Gilpin Faust, to resign her seat on the Staples board unless she actively opposed the company’s deal with the U.S. Postal Service.
