Vincent Alvarez has been elected to his third term as president of the AFL-CIO New York City Central Labor Council, with Secretary-Treasurer Janella T. Hinds getting her third four-year term as well, the umbrella group for the New York City labor movement announced.
They were chosen by acclamation by 178 delegates representing 88 unions representing workers in both the public and private sectors. Thirty-eight incumbent members of the CLC executive board were also re-elected, along with two new members: New York Metro Area Postal Union President Jonathan Smith and Myra Hepburn, the secretary-treasurer of Office and Professional Employees International Union Local 153.
