A battle between Correction Officers Benevolent Association President Norman Seabrook and a board member who challenged him has escalated to the point where U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara is investigating charges of financial wrongdoing against the 20-year union leader.
Corresponding Secretary William Valentin, who has been essentially banished from the board over a dispute involving access to information about members, said in an interview last week that Mr. Bharara’s office is looking into his charges that Mr. Seabrook invested $10 million without the board’s permission.
