Mario Cilento, president of the New York State AFL-CIO, complained March 29 of a “troubling pattern” in which Democratic candidate for Governor Cynthia Nixon “has not once, but twice, shown an alarming disregard for working men and women.”
Ms. Nixon, an actress known for “Sex and the City” who has been outspoken on education, LGBT and women’s issues, announced last month that she will oppose Governor Cuomo, who is seeking a third term, in the Democratic primary. She is positioning herself to his left.
