The American Federation of Government Employees' 50-state midterm election strategy was crucial to Democrats flipping historically Republican seats and winning back control of the House of Representatives, according to union officials.
The union, which represents 700,000 workers across the country, increased its political-action funding to boost member-to-member communication efforts. It also launched a nationwide effort to get out the vote for the midterm elections.
