Some knew him as a skilled and compassionate physician; others as a brilliant researcher or a dogged advocate. But those who spoke at Dr. Stephen M. Levin’s memorial Feb. 21 at Mount Sinai Hospital, which drew some 450 attendees, including many labor leaders, emphasized his passion for the health of working people. He died Feb. 7 at 70 from cancer.
