The state has scheduled exams for Security Officer and Security Officer (Spanish Language). The application deadline is Feb. 11, and the application fee is $25.
The salary is $33,959 per year. Officers who work in New York City or in Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland or Westchester counties will receive an additional $3,026 annual downstate adjustment. Those in Dutchess, Orange or Putnam counties get a $1,513 mid-Hudson adjustment. Jobs exist in various agencies around the state.
