Correction Officers start at $43,042 per year, a figure that rises to $80,788 after 5½ years of employment. They receive an annual uniform allowance of $1,100, holiday pay of $1,769 increasing to $3,599 after 5½ years, contributions by the city to welfare and annuity funds, and city-paid health insurance. Longevity payments begin after five years of service at $4,365, rising to $5,365 after 10 years, $6,365 after 15 years and $7,365 after 20 years.
