The city plans to hold 119 open-competitive and promotion exams for 83 job titles between now and next June, the Department of Citywide Administrative Services has announced. The tentative schedule includes 63 titles for those just entering civil service. Promotion exams are planned for 38 titles, including some for which open-competitive exams are also offered. The promotion exams are available for people in lower civil-service titles who are seeking an upgrade, as in a School Safety Agent taking the test for Police Officer.
