The state is giving exams for Park Police Officer Trainee and Park Police Officer Trainee (Spanish Language). The application deadline is Aug. 1, and the nonrefundable fee is $35.
The salary is $55,179 per year. Officers who work in New York City or in Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland or Westchester counties receive an additional $1,520 annual downstate adjustment. In addition, supplemental location pay is given in the following amounts and locations: $1,266 in Orange, Putnam, and Dutchess counties; $1,900 in New York City and in Rockland and Westchester counties; and $2,217 in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
