It will be 10 years ago Aug. 18 that Firefighters Joseph Graffagnino and Robert Bedia were killed in the Deutsche Bank fire in lower Manhattan.
As is so often the case in a city that takes pride in continually re-inventing itself, the site of the 130 Liberty St. fire, which now is part of the World Trade Center complex, bears no resemblance to the place in 2007 when over 200 Firefighters fought a toxic, smoky blaze that, in addition to the two deaths, left 105 Firefighters injured—almost half of those who responded.
