Correction Unions Demand de Blasio Act to Reduce Violence in City Jails

Waving signs with pictures of their injured colleagues, about 200 city correction officers gathered Jan. 18 on the steps of City Hall to demand that Mayor de Blasio bring the violence at city jails under control.

In interviews after the rally, union officials discussed the messages they had sought to send.
