Students at Brooklyn College began posting photos of the deteriorating campus on social media, which ahead of the Governor signing the state budget drew attention to “the decades of disinvestment in public higher education,” according to Professional Staff Congress President Barbara Bowen.
“Students see the connections between the buildings and their education,” the president of the City University of New York’s largest union said in a March 22 phone interview.
