Bronx prosecutors are contesting the finding by a court-appointed psychiatrist that Jose Gonzalez, the homeless man who allegedly commandeered a city ambulance and fatally ran over Emergency Medical Technician Yadira Arroyo, is psychologically “unfit” to stand trial.
The March 2017 line-of-duty death of the 44-year-old mother of five shocked the city. A psychiatrist working on behalf of Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark has been examining Mr. Gonzalez ahead of a May 16 court date.
